The Icons range pays tribute to members of the Drayton Family, who became legends of the Hunter Valley. They distinguished themselves with extraordinary contributions to the betterment of the Drayton's brand, as well as to the region's wine community.

The Icons wines are a limited range, made only from the most highly rated vintages, using grapes carefully picked and graded to ensure premium quality. 

William Drayton, was at the helm of the Second Generation of Draytons. He registered the original W. Drayton & Son business name and, much like his father Joseph, continued our journey of winemaking excellence and devotion to bottle the character of this region's terroir.

Classic expression of a Hunter Shiraz. Peppery, yet smooth. Medium-bodied, yet powerful. Intense berry aromas, with a hint of vanilla oak. Complex dark plum and cherry flavours, backed by firm tannins. Great length on the palate. Drinking nicely now, but will benefit from further careful cellaring. Langton's Vintage Rating = 9/10
