John Drayton

 

John was School Captain of Cessnock High School in 1971. After obtaining a Bachelor of Mathematics (University of Newcastle), John spent the next thirteen years teaching around the State. It was through teaching that John met his wife, Jan, also a teacher.

In 1989 John left teaching to join his father and brothers in the family business. John's practicality and reasoning have been utilised with him falling into the finance, administration, production and sales areas of the business.

John is very community minded and most, if not all, of his spare time is spent with him aiding and supporting many organisations. He is the current President of Cessnock City Tourist Board, is the President of Pokolbin Community Hall, is a Director of The Hunter Area Consultative Committee, a board member of the Lower Hunter Pipeline Project and is Senior Deputy Captain of the Pokolbin Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade.
